Special Student Development Programmes Offered

Complementing the core academic and student development programmes is our Applied Learning Programme (ALP) in Integrated Projects and Events Management (I-PRESENT) which helps students develop thinking skills, connect knowledge across subject disciplines, stretch their imagination, and apply these in authentic settings. Well-poised with 21st Century Competencies and an entrepreneurial mindset, our students will have an edge in the future. Students will be exposed to higher learning through the offering of events and projects management-related Advanced Elective Modules (AEMs) by various polytechnics. Harnessing our long-standing tradition of musical excellence, every Yuhuan will have the opportunity to experience the beauty of music through our Learning-for-Life Programme (LLP) – MELODY (Music Empowered Learners, Our Dynamic Yuhuans). The music platform lends itself well to the nurturing of character attributes such as creativity, flexibility of thinking, skills of precision, empathy, teamwork, discipline and confidence. Adopting a modular approach, students will experience a comprehensive music curriculum, such as ethnic music, street jazz and body percussion that exposes them to different rhythms, genres and styles of music at increasing levels of sophistication. The differentiated approach caters to our student’s aesthetics needs and ensures depth in learning for those who are inspired to attain greater heights in music. In promoting greater engagement in learning, students will have the opportunity to experience our flagship programmes in the core subjects, namely the Literacy Enhancement Through Timed English Reading (LETTER), Math Cube (MA)3, Green Thinkers Programme (Science) and ApT Reader (Mother Tongue). Life Skills Modules, ranging from personal mastery skills to learning skills such as note-taking and mind-mapping are also offered.
