Special Student Development Programmes Offered
Our school offers customised programmes to cater to students with varied interests and strengths. The RKS Adams Programme nurtures servant leadership in and stretches strong students. Jacob’s Ladder focuses on engaging students in the Normal (Academic) stream to build a strong learning disposition. The Marshall Plan develops students in the Normal (Technical) stream with the lifeskills to leverage their potential. Our Engineering Design Programme will grow Saints with the depth of insight to address real world problems by utilising the Engineering Design Process. Saints will identify themselves as engineers with creative energies to produce innovative products, systems or solutions to meet human needs. At the lower secondary level, Saints will be equipped with 21st Century Competencies and grounded in our WISE and TRUE values via three key programmes: Saints Millennium Race, the Young Scientist Programme and the Oral History Project. Saints learn about real world contexts and delve deep into understanding the underlying issues behind each problem, consider the ethical and practical aspects of each possible solution before they make decisions. In Upper Secondary, Saints will embark on project-based learning via the Elective subjects they pursue. This encourages discovery, exploratory learning and problem solving so that our Saints can better understand how the various subjects help them make sense of their world and prepare for their future careers. Our distinctive programme in Rugby and Life leverages the school’s 80 year tradition in this rugged and disciplined sport. Saints will undertake a variety of Values-in Action projects (both local and overseas) to serve the community around them and beyond often with a sports or outdoor education dimension.
