The school is the Niche School for Performing Arts (Gamelan & Angklung Kulingtan Ensembles) and the Niche School for Visual Art. The School is the proud organizer of the annual nation-wide competition -“The Siglap Young Illustrator Awards”. Special Student Development Programmes Offered

Siglap Secondary aims to be the Choice School for the Arts. To this end, we offer a spread of enriched Arts-related curriculum/programmes that are specially designed for Siglapians. The school’s Applied Learning Programme in Visual Communication will equip students with the prerequisite skills to pursue a higher education in Visual Communication at post-secondary level and to develop in students an understanding of how visual images, texts and contexts can be used creatively to communicate powerful messages to their intended audience. All Siglapians will get to work on picture-work writing and illustration, learn about photojournalsim and video-making. The Learning for Life Programme at Siglap is delivered through the performing arts and offers both broad based opportunities for arts engagement for all students as well as specialised skills development in the arts which aims to develop their character and values and create active citizens through arts advocacy. We also offer the Siglap Art Programme, a special Art curriculum, for a selected group of Siglapians who demonstrate a high level of interest in visual art. These students will get opportunities to learn a wide variety of art-making techniques from master artists, as well as a chance to travel to Cambridge, UK to participate in the Siglap-Anglia Ruskin Summer Art Class.
