Other school features and achievements
To nurture the talents of our pupils, we adopt the Multiple Intelligence approach in our lessons. We provide opportunities for place-based learning and curriculum integration. To enhance our pupil’s communication and presentation skills, we have set up a broadcast studio for conducting interviews and showcasing performances which could be screened live to the school population. A new heritage centre is also set up to cultivate a sense of rootedness to the school and the nation. The school has embarked on the School Family Education programme to enhance family support and involvement. As reflected in the school’s vision, we also emphasis on grooming our pupils to be the PRIDE of the community through active involvement and contribution outside school.

Special Student Development Programmes Offered
ALP (Robotics & Programming) In Pei Hwa’s Applied Learning Programme, students are equipped with robot building and programming skills using Lego EV3. This level-wide training enables our students to acquire important 21st century competencies, skills as well as core values which are aligned to our school’s PRIDE values. The purposeful and progressive educational experiences in LEGO education and CoSpace Robotics in Education (CoRE), a learning platform developed by Singapore Polytechnic, will develop our students into confident and self-directed learners with a keen interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). LLP-CYL (PRIDE of the Community: Developing Altruists) Our Learning for Life Programme: Community Youth Leadership leverages on the school’s PRIDE Values, life skills and Values in Action (VIA) to progressively develop the spirit of altruism in the school community. Students are given opportunities to learn, apply and reflect on their life skills and VIA as they identify and understand community issues, initiate action to make a difference, and foster ownership over how they can contribute to their communities as community-youth leaders. EE (Experiential Education) Our Teaching and Learning is based on the EE approach to engage students. Students are involved in School-Based Curriculum Innovation (SCI) at various locations (Gardens by the Bay, Organic Farm, Sengkang Riverside Park/Sengkang Floating Wetland & Fernvale Estate) as well as various special learning spaces (Solar Learning Centre, Tea Appreciation corner, etc) created within the school.
