Special Student Development Programmes Offered
The Academic Wing of the school offers students a variety of exciting learning experiences that nurture Vistarians into Inquiring Thinkers, Responsible Risk Takers and Caring Individuals. The English Language Programme nurtures students to be confident speakers and writers of the English Language through the Story Telling and Creative Writing workshops. To develop self-directed and collaborative learners, the Math Department adopts the Flipped Learning models to encourage students to engage deeply with math. Partnerships with the polytechnics which offer Advanced Elective Modules complement learning in the sciences. The Creative Studies Consortium provides Vistarians with 3 authentic learning experiences namely; the NV Arts Experience, the NV Design & Technology Experience and the NV Food and Consumer Education Experience. The school was first to be awarded Niche Status in PE & Sports Science and offers Physical Education as a GCE O-Level subject. The NV Applied Learning Programme, Investigative Science in Health and Nutrition, aims to equip Vistarians with the capacity to engage with the big ideas of investigative science for personal decision-making and participation in civic society. The Lifelong Learning Programme, Nurturing Creative Problem Solving through the Arts and Design, aims to develop Vistarians into active citizens who are able to empathise with and respond creatively to the needs of their community. In the Affective Wing, platforms are specially selected to provide exciting, enriching and engaging learning experiences for all students. The Student Leadership Programme nurtures every Vistarian into a compassionate and responsible individual, a dedicated learner and a dynamic leader. Students gain authentic and experiential learning experiences through Vista Week which provides them with a week of culture, adventure and reflection. Terrific Thursdays and Fabulous Fridays also offer students a myriad of learning opportunities beyond the classroom.
