Special Student Development Programmes Offered
The school’s values and 21st Century competencies are promoted through our curricular and co-curricular programmes. Our Science curriculum uses game-based learning and active reading strategies in the learning of Science. Our Mathematics curriculum integrates Financial Literacy Programme to equip students with financial knowledge and skills. Our Community Engagement Programme builds resilience and fosters racial and religious harmony while the Aesthetic Awareness Programme supports the national movement to create a gracious society. Our Environmental Education Programme inculcates care and concern for the environment in our students. The school has a wide range of specialised programmes to meet the diverse needs of students. These include Advanced Elective Modules, Project HEART (Helping and Engaging At Risk Teens) and customised ICT Programmes. As part of the Character and Citizenship Education (CCE), the Be Enquiring and More Experiential (BE ME) Programme helps students make informed decisions concerning post-secondary education and career choices. The Fulfilling, Uniting and eNgaging (FUN) series provide a platform for student leadership development and showcasing of student talents. The school partners University Town to implement the U-Town Mentoring Programme and USP-NTSS Writing Programme. To strengthen our efforts to develop all-rounded students, our school has embarked on the Learning For Life programme (LLP). Our LLP focuses on character and leadership development through Uniformed Groups. Through training in specific skills and involvement in various projects and activities, students acquire life-skills and learn to collaborate effectively with one another. The outstanding awards achieved by all five uniformed groups, especially the 20 consecutive ‘Unit Overall Proficiency Gold Awards’ by our National Police Cadet Cadet are a testament of our commitment to nurture our students and prepare them for the challenges of tomorrow.
