Special Student Development Programmes Offered
Our school’s key strengths lie in the Visual Arts, our Applied Learning Programme (ALP) and building character through Sports for Life, our Learning for Life Programme (LLP). Through art creation and appreciation, values and qualities such as patience, empathy, confidence and team synergy and 21st Century competencies are actively cultivated. Our specialties include acrylic paintings, ceramic and installation art. Our vibrant campus is developed on the twin concept of School as a Giant Gallery and School in a Garden with students’ and staff members’ artwork adorning the school buildings. Navalites are exposed to various careers related to the visual arts to broaden their experiences, acquire skill sets and apply their learning in authentic situations. Such careers include curatorship, art & photo journalism, art critics and product designing. Through our LLP, anchored on John Wooden’s Pyramid of Success to nurture Thomas Lickona’s Performance and Moral Character, all Navalites will participate fully in a variety of sports and games to raise awareness and commitment, build character and sound values. Through active engagement and reflection, Navalites learn to be responsible spectators, effective event organisers, enthusiastic participants and committed sportspersons. All Navalites also receive leadership training, where they hone their socio-emotional competencies to achieve personal mastery and progress to social leadership where they lead others to serve the wider community. Our graduates acquire strong moral values, champion mind-sets and life skills that prepare them well for success in the real world.
