Sports & Outdoor EducationCharacter and Leadership Development Through Outdoor Experiential Learning (OEL)

Special Student Development Programmes Offered

Character building and leadership development is very much ingrained in the school’s vision, A Gracious and Vibrant Learning Community’ and very much aligned to what the school wants to achieve in its mission to nurture students into gracious, disciplined and motivated individuals through a holistic education. Outdoor experiential learning modules complement character development programmes and add value to the numerous outdoor learning trails organised by the subject departments. Through outdoor experiential learning, the school’s values, ‘self-discipline, pride, integrity, compassion and excellence’ are inculcated. Leadership modules are also mounted to enhance students’ capacity to lead. Being the first secondary school to be built in Toa Payoh, FTPSS’s history is linked to the history of Toa Payoh. The Toa Payoh trail is our contribution to the Toa Payoh community. Our students prepare and conduct the trial for residents and other students using the Head, Heart and Hand approach, which imbued them with National Education related messages and values. We are proud to announce that the National Heritage Board launched our Toa Payoh trail during the Singapore Heritagefest Celebration 2014.
