Special Student Development Programmes Offered
CWD provides a holistic education where its Character Development Programme forms the foundation upon which the Academic Programmes are built. In ensuring that the school lives out its mission, CWD developed a Total Curriculum Framework which focuses on quality teaching and learning and character development. In delivering student-centric values-driven education, CWD implemented key programmes such as P4C, Inquiry-based Learning, Habits of Mind, and the Community and Environment Engagement Programme (CEEP). P4C and Inquiry-based Learning develop moral reasoning, critical and creative thinking, , and cultivate curiosity in students. CEEP is anchored on service learning and promotes care for the environment and the less fortunate in society. The school was awarded the Lotus (Gold) Award by Singapore Environmental Council for its environmental efforts. We believe that every student is a leader and through our comprehensive Student Leadership Development Programme, we aim to equip all students with personal leadership skills and develop them to become reflective, ethical and confident individuals who can serve the community. Students engage in experiential learning through platforms such as Project Work, i-Trails and Values-in-Action acquiring skills and values for the 21st century. All students participate in a camp organised for each level every year to develop their physical, social and personal skills. The school introduces 12 selected Habits of Mind over 4 years during which students explore the meaning of success, and how they can become successful by inculcating good mental habits. Activities within and beyond classrooms enable them to use these habits to consolidate their learning.
