Other school features and achievements

  The school has an excellent track record in both Academic and CCA areas. It has been a Band 1 school since 2003, achieving value-added results since 2002. In 2007 98.3% of its graduating pupils qualified for JCs and 92.4% achieved distinctions for their CCAs. In recognition of its commitment towards excellence in education, the school received the prestigious School Excellence Award and was recertified for Singapore Quality Class (SQC) in 2006. Cedar also recertified the Business Excellence (People) Award in 2008. Harnessing on the school’s strengths in accurately identifying, monitoring and developing each pupil’s strengths and potential, programmes at Cedar Girls are customized to the abilities and interests of the pupils so as to develop their potential to the fullest.

Special Student Development Programmes Offered

Through the Leaders of Character Programme, all Cedarians are given opportunities to put their values into action via student-initiated community projects so as to nurture and develop them into leaders of character. The Social Innovation Programme is the school’s signature programme which aims to nurture Cedarians into social innovators. Through this programme, students’ innovative capacity is developed and honed to provide them with the vital skills they need to create breakthrough solutions to address authentic issues faced by the community. With the aim to broaden Cedarians’ perspectives, the Beyond Borders Programme provides Cedarians the opportunity to explore learning beyond the shores of Singapore, see the world differently and learn to work collaboratively with local and international partners. Cedarians with special talents are given the opportunity to pursue their passions and interests through the Talent Development Programme. This programme aims to stimulate the students intellectually and cognitively to create new knowledge and stretch their potential. We also have a Sports Class which is tailored to the learning needs of our sports talents. To help these students balance their achievements in sports and the academic domain, our team of teachers and coaches work together synergistically to plan and strategize their learning and training needs.
