Other school features and achievements
To nurture BDSians into active citizens, our CCE programmes begin in Sec 1 and culminate in the Sec 3 BIND (Bedok South Internationalisation & National Education Development) programme in which students participate in overseas community service work. Interdisciplinary Project Work focuses on community engagement and involvement, with opportunities for students to present their CIP projects at our annual Learning Fiesta. PE & CCA programmes emphasise a healthy lifestyle and engagement in competitive and recreational sports activities.

Special Student Development Programmes Offered
The Aesthetics Without Borders Programme (AWoB) is a curriculum designed to develop students’ thinking and mind-mapping skills; visual literacy; movie-making; digital photography and Adobe Photoshop; basic nutrition and creative foods; computer-aided design and creative design; and music literacy. BDS Young Series Programme aims to develop students’ interest and deepen their understanding in the Design and Technology (D&T), Art, Food and Nutrition (F&N) subjects. Students can opt for modules that introduce them to career paths in Design, Digital Art and Food Science. Project S.H.I.N.E is an integrated Student-centred and Holistic programme that develops Innovation and Nurtures Empathy. The curriculum pairs students’ work in core subjects with Design Thinking, which equips them with the skills, knowledge and attitudes needed for individual success and global competitiveness. Through Design Challenge Projects, students will understand the relevance of what they learn and develop the passion for deeper learning. Students will develop mastery in the Design Thinking skills through community projects. The journey culminates with BIND (Bedok South Internationalisation and NE Development) Programme where students will test the scalability of their projects during the overseas trip.
