School Distinctive Programmes

Special Student Development Programmes Offered
The school offers a balanced academic curriculum with flexible subject combinations at the upper secondary level. Academic Programmes such as Striving for Academic Results (STAR), Structured Mentoring Programme (SMP) and Helping Our Pupils Excel (HOPE) for the graduating students help them achieve better academic outcomes while the Consolidation Programme (CP) for Sec 3 Express and Sec 3 Normal stream students prepares them for the national exams the following year. The Formative Assessment Time (FAST) programme provides timely feedback on student performance and assists teachers in reviewing their strategies and approaches to improve student learning. The ISTART programme integrates ICT and the Arts with academic subjects. This includes interdisciplinary one-to-one computing projects that develop 21st Century Competencies such as self-directed and collaborative learning. Kinect technology is used during PE and Chemistry lessons and IPADS/ tablets are used by the Lower Sec Normal Technical Stream and Special Needs students during Reading periods. The CDSS Creative Arts Programme seeks to develop students into appreciative and engaged learners of the Arts through multiple platforms such as the visual arts, new media, music, dance and drama. Two iconic CDSS Service Learning Programmes are the Inter-Generational Games, where students interact with the elderly in computer, sports, ball and ‘kampong’ games, and Hope-For-Cambodia (H4C), a Service Learning Project that provides students with extensive opportunities for social and cultural immersion. All Sec 2 students register for the National Youth Achievement Award (NYAA) and all Sec 1 students undergo the Water Safety programme. We also have an After School Programme (ASP) at the Hideout (located in the school) that functions like a Student Care Corner. We also offer programmes to educate students on environmental consciousness by practising the 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle).
